[AppleTV2] Crashing on scrapping
#1
I am getting crashing on scraping. Only testing with 1 folder which I am talking to via uPnP using Twonky Media Server on my QNaP NAS. Scrape type is Movie using TheMovieDB. Crashing occurs if set to automatic at start or done manually. The logs show different info depending on if I do it at start or manual

xbmc.log when set to scrape at start: http://pastebin.com/WQsB54Cg
xbmc.log when doing a manual scrape: http://pastebin.com/GMjW7Wtm

I'm not sure which is the appropriate CrashReporter log to grab, so if you tell me which one, I'll include one of those.

I experienced scraping issues as well, so I moved my stuff to remote mysql library and am reorganizing my media like this:

Not only is scanning much faster, it doesn't break on the atv2 anymore now.

What guide did you follow to set this up. I see life hacker has one, but it looks like its only for Windows PC only on the network. I have a couple of window PCs + (2) ATV2 on my network!

Sorry if this is considered a hijack, but how do you manually scrape for movies and TV Shows?

I first enabled mysql remote library support and setup all my devices to utilize a single mysql remote library. There's a lifehacker tutorial on this.

Then I made sure on all my devices I am sharing the smb names, so for example TV is under smb://QNAP/QMultimedia/TV so every device has the same network paths.

After that, I used media utilities to add .tbn, .nfo and .jpgs for all my media and organize it on my NAS in the way lifehacker mentions.

Now all of my devices share a library and have exactly same info, i can scrape on my faster desktop machine and share that info with the rest, and all the art works because it's stored locally.

Media scraping is much faster too since everything is stored locally.

I'm trying to do what you did with mysql and tbn/jpg/nfo files, but am having some issues. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I have a QNAP as well and I've been using UPnP. Right now I'm only dealing with my ATV2, but plan to expand to additional ATV2's in the future.

As a starting point, I told XBMC to clean the library, which was local

I followed the lifehacker article and got the MySQL DB's created. I added info to advancedsettings.xml

I used EMM-r to download some jpg/nfo files for a test folder of movies and another of TV shows.

Next I added my movie and tv test folders as sources (UPnP). I set the content accordingly and told it to scan for new content. It proceesed to scrape and it crashes. From your unofficial build thread, I see this is related to thumbnails. There are two settings that I could see reference thumbnails, one for actor thumbs and the other for extract thumbs/media info. I set both off but XBMC still crashes. What am I missing?

Also, when XBMC scrapes this folder, it is going to read the pre-existing NFO and JPG files and not try and go scrape from scratch, correct?
