Linux HOW-TO watch Live TV in XBMC for Linux with Tvheadend, the easy way!
I'm pretty darn sure it's been stated that live recording does not work as it hasn't been implemented yet, I know EPG recording works and setting up a schedule etc.

It's somewhere in this thread but it's 2am and I haven't got the motivation to search for it.

When can we expect precise packages? Don't want to be bothering you, but this is the only thing keeping me from upgrading to precise...

There's a new one today...

But it says it's 7 days old!? What on earth is that about, the other packages for windows and openelec standalone etc are all listed from today.

Is this something todo with the "audio engine" integration, seems quite illogical to me.

does somebody know, how to change the frequenz of a channel ?
Because after they switched the analog satallite system off here in gearmany, two channels were moved to another frequenzy. Sure i could rerun the channel finding, but this would take longer then simple change the frequenz.

Or is this not possible with tvheadend ?

add mux manelly (see kingofsat for the mux), then there is the new channel but the old one is still there too

that is the way i did it

May I ask, is there a PPA available with an easy script install like this one that includes BOTH PVR and the new AudioEngine?

Cheers Smile

Would it be possible to have the TVheadend add-on try to reconnect to the server if it failed on the first try?
I'm using TVheadend on a remote server and if I start xbmc before the server is available it keeps giving the 'No PVR clients have been started yet' error. Disabling and enabling Live TV or the add-on fixes the problem but I wonder if there is an automatic solution for it.

Edit: This also describes the problem.
Edit2: And this...

Hey

I don't know if i am on the right spot here ,but i'll just go ahead and ask my question.

I installed TVheadend together with openelec 1.9.4 and Xbmc. I have a TT-S2-3600 USB Tuner connected to it.

When booting up , i get this :

[ 11.116947] dvb-usb: found a 'Technotrend TT Connect S2-3600' in warm state.

[ 11.245062] dvb-usb: Technotrend TT Connect S2-3600 successfully initialized and connected.

I also have to say that i have a 17/8 multiswitch connected to it with 4 LNB's.

the moment i add a satellite, i have this output in dmesg :

[ 540.303687] pctv452e: I2C error -121; AA 58 CC 00 01 -> 55 58 CC 00 00.
[ 540.317319] pctv452e: I2C error -121; AA 6F CC 00 01 -> 55 6F CC 00 00.
[ 540.370318] pctv452e: I2C error -121; AA 8B CC 00 01 -> 55 8B CC 00 00.
etc......

it adds the mux to tvheadend, and than the signal drops from 100% to 0%

I don't know where to start to look. Is there anyone who can help me with it ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi,

i have a openElec installation with tvHeadend service. I have a digital-devices cine-s2 SAT-card and want to scan astra 19.2 channels.
So, i have tried two ways:
1. "Add dvb network by location" and then selected Astra 19.2. After that, only 8 services will be added, no more (after reboot, also no more services will be found). Network ID was set to 1 for this adapter and "Auto detect muxes" was set to ON.
2. After that i removed the muxes and addes manually via "Add mux(es) manually" with settings "frequency": 11953500, "symbol_rate": 27500000, "fec": "3/4", "delivery_system": "SYS_DVBS", "constellation": "QPSK", "polarisation": "Horizontal". I have read this in another thread. But also the same: only 8 services were found.

In my log-file, the following error appears:

Jun 10 17:59:10 openelec daemon.notice tvheadend[1368]: START: HTS Tvheadend version 0.90.0.5265.ga257d started, running as PID:1368 UID:0 GID:0, settings located in '/storage/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/service.multimedia.hts-tvheadend', dataroot: <Embedded file system>
Jun 10 17:59:10 openelec daemon.debug tvheadend[1368]: AVAHI: Adding service 'Tvheadend'
Jun 10 17:59:10 openelec daemon.err tvheadend[1368]: xmltv: No output from "/storage/.xbmc/addons/service.multimedia.hts-tvheadend/bin/tv_grab_file"
Jun 10 17:59:11 openelec daemon.info tvheadend[1368]: AVAHI: Service 'Tvheadend' successfully established.

So what can i do to solve this (i have read a lot in some threads, but i cannot find the post which will help me).
Is it a problem with permissions Huh
Help me please.

Thanks, XBMCManni

I bought a Hauppage HVR-950Q USB tuner today, and I installed TVHeadend but it refuses to work with Analog. My Log file says something about my tuner not having a MPEG2 encoder.

Any help appreciated.

@XBMCManni :
If I remember well (I now use vdr for quite a long time), I had this issue too and strangely resolved it by not choosing 19.2E but 21.6E (or 23.5E I don't remember...). That was also the case with w_scan...
Think to keep "Auto detect muxes" set to ON.
I agree, it's not really intuitive but I think it should work Smile

PS : For the xmltv error, I think you'll have to configure a tv_grab in EPG options, but that's optionnal.
