My Denon AVR-2805 only kicks into DD or DTS mode when content with it is played back, otherwise it is in 2.0 mode. Mmmmhhh strange... Mine also kicks in DD only when playback, but the ui feedback is not there any more? |

I enabled the AC3 and DTS passthrough as described in the first post and I get static audio. It might be good if people post what their configuration is that is either working or not working. I am wondering if it's a bug in OS 4.0 that is not allowing AC3 and DTS to passthrough. I am hesitant to update to the latest version of the OS as I am not a fan of tethered jailbreaks.
So for me. Config OS 4.0 Connected via HDMI to a Dennon reciever. Result=Lots of Static audio |

My setup:
ATV2 OS 4.1.1 (iOS 4.2.1) - installed XBMC with apt after adding the proper repos, did not use Nito TV. SPDIF to Denon AVR-2805 Plays back DD and DTS, as well as multichannel AAC (comes up as DD on receiver) HTH. |

I found the solution to our problems... For <channellayout>7</channellayout> Change it to 5. Make sure you're doing this while exitted out of xbmc. DTS now properly shows up on my receiver

Make sure that you indicate which atv2 os this works on or does not. Just so everyone uses the same notation.
4.1 4.2 4.2.1 4.3bx those are the versions, what shows in atv2 GUI is something else. MediaInfo : http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/ Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. |
