Question about system info
#1
Hello,

is the following possible?

I have noticed that XBMC seems to refresh the system info ie (your GPU, CPU, operating system info etc etc) about every 18/20seconds. When my XBMC is started from suspend or from the desktop shortcut it can take up 10/12 seconds to collect the hardware info. Then it refreshes every 18/20 seconds thereafter. I noticed this while studying the SYSTEM>SYSTEM INFO pages in XBMC settings, this might be a normal process for XBMC but when it is refreshing the system info I get a major lag on the XBMC experience.I was wondering if there was a way that XBMC could only grab the system info once, maybe at start up, as this causes quite a lag on the home page until it retreives this info then it is fast again. From startup only when the system has identified the hardware and then settled a second or two does the RSS feed and weather info appear. Then if I select something from the home screen menu say movies, and stay in that selected folder for a few minutes when I go back to the home screen there is a big lag again until the sytem refreshes itself ie(your GPU, CPU, operating system info etc etc)

My setup is as follows
Windows 7 64 bit
Asrock Ion 330ht bd
Windows XBMC Dharma r35647
using skin Tranparency v 3.11.1 (and I have tried latest SVN)
(while using Confluence v 1.1.0 I noticed the refresh of system info but no lag)

I recently tried XBMC live 10 running from a usb stick and the problem above didn't occur when using Confluence skin and Transparency skin

Any help would be appreciated.
John.
