menu display not working correctly
#1
just done a fresh install of windows xp pro service pack 3 32 bit. my pc has 512mb ram and amd athlon xp 2400+ cpu. the display adapter is nvidia riva tnt2 model 64/model 64 pro. xbmc version 10.0

graphics driver nvidia 6.1.7.7 7/15/2004 i cannot update this to the lastest version because colour goes to 4 bit will try any other versions if needed?

xbmc works fine but all the menu writing is cut off at the top i've played around with all the resolution settings and found that 800x600 is the only one that is viewable allthough its no where near perfect. even with that resolution i need to have the zoom at 12% to see the settings menu

Weird. I'd guess it was a video driver problem.

Any NVIDIA 8x00 or 9x00 card should be fine. You don't say what format the card is. All the recent NVIDIA cards are PCIe only, though I think the 8400GS is available as PCI. I use a 9400GT on my main PC. I forget what I paid for it, but I got it from eBay and it was pretty cheap. About £20/$30 I think.

I don't have personal experience of the Radeon cards, but many people hereabouts use them with few problems.
