from their download section:
_ xbox, gamecube or playstation 2. write to "support@fmod.org" only if you are a registered microsoft, nintendo or sony console developer. _ ts 42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Quote:# yes that's right, if your product is not intended to make any money, and is not charged for in any way, then you may use fmod in it for free! Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. since only official xbox developers are allowed to use it, one can suspect that it's because it's tied with the beloved/hated xdk
nevertheless, it couldnt hurt to ask them Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first. ![]() |

has anybody sent them an email about this? it would be sweet to see it implemented into xbmc. if they were to give you the source for it even if it was dependent on the xdk it wouldn't matter, would it. i thought that would be the same thing as xbmc, the source is fine, it's illegal once it's compiled, right?

if on of the developers or any other xbmc affliated person could send a nice kind e-mail explaining what xbmc is, that it is legal and that the project could benefit greatly from this.
also make sure to note the current copyright holders and that you can guarantee that xbmc will not go commercial. from my experience this sort of project are not always nice to gpl developers but considering that this company already has an linux port ready i think that xbmc has a nice change. it seems to me like an kick ass libary ![]() edit :// http://www.fmod.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2233&start=0 might be intresting to read the developers don't care in what sort of project it is used, those guys actually seems to be quite nice ![]() edit 2 // it support some really nice things like fades (gapless playback! and eq and 3d sound (would be nice to play with if you have headphones). definly worth to give a try
