hello,
i know c/c++ and i have the xdk.. latest ver (5849 i believe), and visual studio.net (not 2003, its the 2002... i am able to compile with 2002 ver though)

i have all the tools that could ever be needed/wanted but the xdk dashboard.

so, what are some things that need to be improved? i am excited to start developing for xbmc.. the first thing that i think needs to be improved is the web server.. i think that there should be an actual program that will control it... and instead of turning off, it goes into standby etc

hi bitblaster, and welcome.

the basic procedure is to start coding on whatever you feel needs it. submit patches to sf, and they'll be picked up from there. note that we're all very busy, and it may take a little time for us to check them out etc.

as for the debug dash stuff, you might want to check out:

cheers,
jonathan

if you flashed your tsop instead of using a modchip, you can still load a debug bios without reflashing the tsop by loading it up from your dashboard after booting with your retail bios as usual. i've had good luck with frosted bios loader, it's set up to boot one of yoshihiro's debug bioses and shows up in evox as "test application"...

i like to see some small but essential things added to xbmc, things that together would really make a big difference in user-friendlyness, example;
- option to set clock manually in xbmc, (like how microsoft dashboard can)
- check xbox system-clock at startup ...and correct if wrong/needed
- time-zone and daylight-savings time setting/control (like and correct if wrong/needed), ...be good for xbmc time-server for one

ps! remember that these is currently a developer contrest going on that is open for you to join, see here (link)
