and now hopefully with this someone can port or write something for xbmc, i hope someone can take this up! please?
except swing requires no additional software other then the 'typical' java client most people usually have installed.

the widget requires much more
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

if you read the documentation of that dopal project linked to in the first post, it requires you to have the xml interface plugin installed for azureus. i am assuming it is the same one as for ryo's widget.

those dopal examples do look pretty easy.

correct.

glad you think so (i wrote the dopal library). :d

the advantage over the xml/http plugin over, say, the html ui option is that you can have much more control over what, say, the html ui code does - changing any config setting, or even changing the config settings of other plugins, changing the download state - you could even change what tracker a torrent is using.

the disadvantage of it is that - well - if you want to use it to build an interface, then you actually have to put the effort in to write an interface first. Smile

this will be required anyway since the python interface to xbmc requires you to add controls and listen for events.

i supposed though that someone could integrate the html interface into the xbmc web interface but you won't see that on your tv (and you might as well just use the az one).

I have recently done an Azureus-Controller using the standard azwebhtml gui. It can be found on xbmcscripts.com name Azureus controller.

The thread on xbox-scene is here which lists it capabilities..
