Just my 2 cents:

Is it possible to use the Harmony and the bluetooth add-on (for ps3) so that it could send "keyboard" presses through bluetooth, that way all the functionality would be covered, wouldnt it?

First off, you wouldn't be able to plug the device into the Apple TV.

As the ATV2's USB port is not a host port it would never work.

There is an onboard 30pin dock connector but as far as i know no one has tested it yet to find out if all traces are connected, if they are and you had the necessary soldering skills you may be able to make it happen.

I have, it's a dead end.

Damn. Maybe the USB can be switched between Host and User? Who knows if Apple included that functionality. Oh well

Server - Debain Squeeze Server + 6TB RAID5 + Sabnzbd + CP & SB
HTPC - Zotac MAG + 60GB Vertex 2 SSD + OpenELEC Frodo 12.1 + Aeon Nox
HTPC 2 - AppleTV 2

No it's a diagnostics port... it's there to revive the device if an over the air update fails and leaves the device in a "bricked" state.

Ummm yes, if your sending keypresses via bluetooth your doing exactly what a bluetooth keyboard does... however I'm assuming your referring to the PS3 remote... it doesn't send normal keyboard keypresses.

Is there any way to unpair it? I mostly used the keyboard for the set-up, and I don't need it paired anymore. A few people have have tried to uninstall BTstack, but that doesn't seem to fix anything. The other alternative people have used is pairing it to another device, but then both devices are always competing for the keyboard.
