[RELEASE] Movie Quiz - how well do you know your movie collection?

Hmm.. does it crash XBMC regularly or was it just the latest version (0.5.6) ?
I have seen a similar crash problem with XBMC Dharma, but that one got fixed in time for Eden.

Can you write the last couple of steps you did before it crash - did you use mouse, correct/incorrect answer, did the videoclip stop on it's own or by your answer, etc.

I've been trying to reproduce some of the errors, but no luck so far..

For eden I think the number is 60, so myvideos60 should be the one with the highest number. To fix this you need to rename or remove the other databases.

What have I done to cause this? is it in my XML file? I edited it a while back to try and fix Movie Quiz - but it didn't work

The crashes using 0.5.6, quit repeatable within a dozen questions...

The background and question are presented, the black screen drops and the loading band ensues, the cursor indicates busy and the top of the screen shows loading. You heard the audio of the video (no image) and it continues as you wait for a video that never shows... the audio in all probability would play the entire episode (not just a sample). Answering the question, (orrectly or incorrectly) produces the system is not responding req. This is consistant with the debug logs I produced in the previous post. I should note I did catch a crash with this version with the theme (music notes on paper) wallpaper in the background but the question was 'What Season of Sanctuary is ths"? So either the question or the theme was not placed as it should.... hinting of some timing order of things got scrambled.

I rolled back to 0.5.5 to-day after I saw your question, just to see if I could crash it out.... but it ran stable for over a half an hour., themes sometimes played and sometimes not... I thought at first it was associated with two themed questions back to back, but I'm not sure. Then I thought a system sound interrupted the loading theme. I suggest disabling the system sounds temporarily to see if we can get an issue there. I do note on occasion a video should have been shown, but didn't although the screen scrolled down and was in position, and question poised. Entering a random answeer the porgram moved on. On exit after this marathon... I did get a Will Robinson req. but it exited properly after that. This is your most stable version to-date.

a selection of anything brings the program not responding req. XBMC exits

It seemed as if two questions were loaded almost simultaneously.

I develop this addon on Linux, but I just tried running it on Windows and it crashed XBMC on the fifth video played with "XBMC has stopped responding" as you mention.
I'll install Vistual Studio and try to locate the problem. I'm thinking it is related to video playback in XBMC and the addon just triggers it to happen quite often.

I took it upon myself to give the nighties a shot, and installed Frodo and installed Movie Quiz, and you might be surprised that it not only didn't crash, but I played with it for some time expecting it to go down... It never did and exited properly I did work with a limited set of movies and TV shows...(51 TV shows in Frodo vs 200 in Eden + 5000 episodes), there was a few quirks in some MQ pages when the graphic didn't show (black rectangle) or the 'solution' was either so quick, or non existent... that I wasn't sure of the true answer.

My thoughts at this point is to leave V5.5 on the repo as default and move Frodo along, unless you're committed to a solve at this point.

In the meantime, I'll move back to Eden, and try MQ with a limited library, and give a shot at the default skin to see if T! or size might have something to do with this. Ok same issue with Confluence in Eden, so it's not related to skin nor library size, and seems to have some issue at the 'loading' stage.

But I have little problem .....

1. For the traduction in french
"Quel est le slogan du film ......." is really bad traduction
=> "Quel est le synopsis du film ..... " <= is a really good traduction

PS : I find the xml and change it, but change you too for the next version

2. The serie quizz with Extracted video for find the serie name
I have a Black square for the video but nothing inside
For film is good
Do you have an idea ?

0.5.7 is that the latest at this point...? (I've rolled back to the more stable 5.5, and waiting for a ver update from your repo whihc indicated 0.5.7 ).

Abrasion, you have to remove the myvideos6060 database from the mysql server. You can usually do that using phpMyAdmin or something similiar.
Please make sure XBMC is not using that database though, so you don't delete something you actually use

PatK, yeah 0.5.7 is the latest version at the moment. I've spent some time on other stuff the last few weeks. I'll try to get back to working on the movie quiz soon..
