I would like to know if fanart can be attached and shown for directories in file view mode. If so, how is it done.

I did a some more digging and found the answer. If you place the fanart in a file named fanart.jpg in the desired directory you get fanart for directories in file mode.

I mean, you only need to rename the fanart.jpg file into what?
fanart.jpg for every movie or movie name.jpg, e.t.c.

If the movie is in it's own folder you can just name it fanart.jpg.
If there are multiple movies in one folder you will need to name the picture the
Movie Name - fanart.jpg
As in
"Inception - fanart.jpg"
The best policy is to have your movies in their own folder then you can place folders into that folder like "extrathumbs" and" extrafanart" and get the most out of skins that have views that support extra artwork.
