So, I am a bit lost with all the threads but I could not find a single tutorial on basic things, such as how to install navi-x or other plugins. Whatever I was able to find referred to apple tv 1 and referred to some folders that I could not find in my Apple TV. Where is XBMC application located on apple tv2 (I logged in as root)? How do I install navi-x or other plugins? Any pointer to tutorials that explain this step by step would be greatly appreciated!

Download navi-x for xbmc from the navi-x website before you do this though you need to ssh into your atv and drop the navi-x zip somewhere onto your atv that you can find by navigating to it when you choose the install from zip file. you need to install navi x from a zip file, go to add ons in settings on xbmc, then get more, then keep clicking back (the very top bit with 3 dots) until you see install from zip. then navigate to where you dropped the navi-x zip file, select it and it will install. you will get confirmation its installed in the bottom right corner of the screen. To run Navi-x just choose Programs from the main XBMC menu and Navi-x will be right there |

Thanks. I managed to figure that out late last night, but when I download navix zip file and drop it onto my apple tv via ssh ftp, navigate to install from zip file I get "installation failed" message. When I download the file mac automatically unzips it. I zipped it back and then uploaded. Maybe thats the problem?

This will be my first plugin install other than those built in to the ATV2 version of XBMC. Which Navi-X plugin did you download? I'm assuming the Darhma beta 2 for Apple TV, correct?
In general, do plugins built for ATV1 work on ATV2? |

Won't work if safari unzips it first, instead do a ctrl click and choose 'download linked file as'. This way the file should stay zipped up. Send the zipped file over with ssh and use 'install from zip' in XBMC. Should work much better that way.

I did this and the file downloads with an dmg extension (zip file for Mac) and when I drop in on ITV2G it is not reconized. Please help |

I've installed plugins from a zip file, but Navi-x specifically is giving me trouble. When I select to install form zip and find the .zip file it basically looks like nothing happens. Anyway it looks like Navi-x installs because I go to programs and can see an icon for it. This is where I'm really stumped though because nothing I click in the programs screen does anything
. The back button, the Navi-x icon, the get addons button... nothing! If anyone has any ideas. I'd like to avoid removing and reloading XBMC as I've got some local links and plugins setup and working well.
