Might not be what you're looking for, but FYI you can do a reset from your remote. There's no need to SSH in and reset that way. To reset using your remote hold menu+down keys for about 5 sec (until the light on the ATV flashes rapidly)

Yea, but my ATV 2 just usually gets hung up and needs a reboot every couple of days, figured a script like this can do it for me so I'm not having to determine it needs it later, while I'm actually wanting to use it.
Though, I have found how to do this from another site, so i appreciate op's idea to put me on the track. |

Harmony remote has reset button mapped for apple TV. Not sure about the code/key combination but it always works. This comes really handy if you are using supertv addon which requires reset after every usage.
