I have been using MCE since XP days over 4 setups at the house..upgraded to Windows 7 and all of them have stutter issues and after a year of this and no fix from Microsoft, I have started a switch and now testing XBMC.

So far, love it - but one item I cannot get to work which was an MCE feature (using the MCE Microsoft Keyboard) - and that is while I have 300+ videos, 5000+ music - in Library view - I would like to press a letter on the keyboard and have it jump to the first title with the letter. It makes for quick navigation if I start typing a full word - it will start at the first letter then closer to the match as I type the word.

So, is there a way to get XBMC to behave like this and is just something I missed?

Shift+letter should do just that. Welcome to forums :-)

while u cant really press shift+letter on a remote (if your planing get one):

keymap

take this one and you can go with your numbers/numpad in sms style through the libs

NOTE: SMS style jumping with remote works on Xbmc Live without a need for keymap. I'm not sure about other platforms.
