HDMI Audio Problem after Wake Up from Sleep
#1
Hello All,

Thanks in advance for any help with this topic. Here is my setup and problem.

Asrock Vision 3D running Windows 7 and XBMC 10 connected to a Sony 60EX700 via HDMI.

I use Sleep as the shutdown function. Everything works perfectly in regards to shutting down, etc. except that when I wake up, there is a picture on the TV with no audio. If I hit Alt-F4 and restart XBMC (not rebooting the whole PC), the audio is restored.

I have Audio section setup as follows:

Audio Output to HDMI
Speaker Configuration: 2.0
Audio output device to: DirectSound: Primary Sound Driver

What do I need to do to correct this problem? Change one of the audio output devices? I've tried changing it to other DirectSounds and one of WASAPI's with no success.

Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. Install the latest HDMI audio driver and you're fine Big Grin

Thanks SyphOn, are you on an Asrock Vision 3D as well? The link mentions that I don't have appropriate hardware. I went to Asrock's site and they have Realtek HDMI audio driver updates, but nothing for nvidia.

Thanks for your help,
Tim

Sorry, I gave u the wrong link. Blush

If you have 32bits windows 7:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-wi...river.html

For 64bit:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-wi...river.html

It also updates the HDMI audio driver, which should fix your problem. Big Grin

I tried this also with no success. I've looked on Asrocks page and they still have just 260.81 listed.

How did you get the 266.58 to install on your Asrock Vision 3D?

Thanks again for all of your help!

I don't have the Vision 3D, i got the ION 3D. But the problem with 'no sound after wakeup' lies in the hdmi audio driver.

What did it say when you tried to install the drivers from the nvidia site?

It tells me it is unable to find compatible hardware. I've tried various nvidia drivers listed in this thread with no success. According to the Asrock forums, I'm not alone in this problem with the Vision 3D.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again,

After some discussion with Asrock, they realized the nvidia drivers were incompatible and therefore placed updated custom drivers on their website yesterday.

Thank you all for your help! Such a great forum.

Maybe I'm being blind but I can't see the updated version on their website, still seems to be listed as 260.81 or was it the realtek driver you updated? Thanks

having same problem on zotac zbox nd-22 - this driver doesnt work and oddly zotac have a newer 1.0.0.63 available on their website (11/2009) which doesn't either!

unable to install the full package either from nvidia website...

slightly frustrating since just got usb-uirt fully set-up (both putting into sleep, and waking up from sleep etc with harmony remote) so this was the final piece to ditching keyboard + mouse!

All fixed! turns out the ND22 which has a CULV processor is actually compatible with the desktop ION drivers from nvidia so this link instead worked:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvis...river.html

..and has installed 1.1.13.1 audio drivers which work fine!
