Harmony 900 Setup Question
#1
Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and the whole HTPC scene, I had a Popcorn hour player for quite a while and have had a XBMC setup before etc.
My question is on the remote setup part of things. My one box at home runs windows but my HTPC is an Ubuntu machine, now.
When I add the remote and install it with drivers etc, can I add the devices and all that on the Windows machine or do I need to get this setup stuff running on the Linux box straight?

You should be able to do the full setup from the Harmony app on your Windows box.

Hi,

Thanks I was able to set everything up on the windows box. Now I'm just struggling with the part of getting LIRC to work correctly for the remote. The remote controls everything else I have but the HTPC I still do with the keyboard and I would like to replace that as well. Anyone know where I can get the key commands etc for the remote?

i use my logitech for my xbmc htpc, i have it programmed as an XBOX (original) remote, with a dongle soldered to a usb lead...

anywho, these should help:

first off, get root access with putty: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?pid...3pid256595

then set up LIRC: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?pid...3pid678549 (post number 18)
