Did anybody succeed in connecting to ipad2 4.3 an (externally powered, fat32) USB hard disk to play videos? a video on youtube showed this is possible (on ipad1) but requires shh complex 13-steps... mounting and a mac pc... You think this is possible with XBMC?

This is more compact anyway, and it's fast as blazes, allowing me to avoid having to copy movies to the iPad altogether. Love it!

How fast is SD(HC) transfer? Which Class do you suggest to buy? I have a 16G Class 4 (works ok). Maybe it doesn't make a different as most SDHC can be READ at 15MB/s?
Anybody found any ipad2 SD transfer speed test? Tnx

Not sure, but I know a lot of people have gotten externally powered USB hard drives in general to work on the iPad. So it should work in XBMC like any other USB source. Also, due to the limited power the iPad provides over the USB port, a lot of people have used powered USB hubs to use devices that would otherwise not work.

ChipsAhoy Wrote:Yes, this is very easy and works perfectly.

Using SSH or iFile, navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata/sources.xml

and add this code to the sources.xml file:

<source>
<name>iPad USB</name>
<path pathversion="1">/var/mnt/mount1/</path>
</source>

thx this worked great for my cousin's ipad

This works after manually entered the path, but when i exit XBMC it dissapear? Had to edit the source.xlm file with ssh. Sounds like a permission error?

Edit. Runs eden 11.0
