Buffering issue - My way of solving the problem
#1
I'm new to XBMC and only have my aTV2 for about 10 days.
As soon as installed XBMC on my aTV2 I found it to be nice but bugs are a part, as it's a new porting into the iOS that is part of the deal Smile

One thing that made me re think my move from a full HTPC into this fanny looking small factor aTV2 - was Buffring, every 2-3 minutes, that wasn't fun Sad

My initial starting point was:
aTV + LAN to my D-Link n modem/router (Only 2.4GHZ = top speed of 140) + 1TB USB Drive
After that I started exploring nightly builds - that wasn't the answer for me
The new step was to get an Airport Extreme (5GHZ = Top speed of 300) so my aTV2 went wireless as the LAN speed is only 10/100, as my USB Disk wasn't in the right file system it was still connected to my D-Link n - small change, but still no way to see a movie.

So what can I do?
Got my USB Drive to HFS format and connected to my new Airport Extreme - that did the job, Now I can watch a full 720P Movie and will get even one Buffering - that is the my way of solving it.

Hope that will help you guys out there...

10/100 shouldn't be the problem. A full blu-ray rip of Avatar with it's massive bitrates can be streamed at that speed.
