Subtitles with SRT Files
#1
I've tried reading up on some of this and got a few things working and some not...

For The Dark Knight movie, I have an mkv file and a srt file(same folder, same name etc). This srt file is a single file that has multiple languages in it.
I can toggle through the languages in VLC player..but in XBMC I can either disable them, OR enable them---but only the first language shows up?
I cant toggle through the languages.

I also tried another version of the same movie...this is an mp4 file format.
This time around, I have a separate srt file per language..in the same folder as the movie. Now I can again switch the subtitles off. But when I toggle them on again, I can see the English ones---but not other languages.

Any ideas?

add separate srt files on mkv file (if they fit with timings) with mkvmerge, set all appropriate flags to every srt and correct name and language, then give a try.
i've never had problem this way

ok i will have to read up on that...not sure how to do that yet...
although im starting to think if mkv files are worth the effort if you have to do all this to get things to work?

do most of you do all this? why not just leave the standard dvd .vob files format in place? or the blu-ray formats...?
