XBMC Freezes when pulling movies form Ubuntu Share
#1
Hello!

Im having some problems with my XBMC installation. I have narrowed it down a bit and I'm thinking there is a problem with my share.

I have a file server with Ubuntu 10.04 (x86) with a Samba share. My XBMC is installed on a Windows 7 Pro (x64) computer.

What happends is that I put my Samba share as a network drive (Z) and all the movies are read into XBMC with no problems. But when I start a movie I just get the loading circle and there it stays. Forever....

Funny thing is that it worked just great with Dharma Beta 3 but then again I had some server problems and I had to copy stuff to diffrent locations so the permissions might be messed up.

The Windows user has full rights to the Samba share and I can copy/delete in the share with no problems.

ALL my movies are RARed, might be good to know.

Here is a copy of my log

Can you play videos if they're not in a RAR archive?

Yes, works just fine when they are not RARed. Tried to unpack the same movie that freezes XBMC and it plays fine in both Windows and XBMC from the Samba share.
Hmmm Eek

I did some more testing this Weekend. I already have a very fresh Win7 install so I uninstalled XBMC (removed ALL XBMC folders etc etc) and reinstalled it. I built up my movie library and did some small configs. Some movies work great, others freezes XBMC up like before. What I did figure out tho is that when i browse the files it almost always work. I have a movie that is a RAR library and in it there is a ISO of the movie. If I try to play it tru the "library" with movie info and such it freezes but if I browse to folder it finds both the RAR files and the ISO files and plays it just fine.

What am I doing wrong? Im about to give up on this =(
