Codec issues?
#1
Hi guys,

I have downloaded some sample 3D videos from http://www.3dtvworld.com.au/3d-downloads/

Basically they are just side by side format videos, so technically they shouldn't be any different to a non-3D video file.

I've noticed that in XBMC I can't play most of them, or it starts and plays 1 second of them then stops playing. This happens regardless of whether DXVA2 is on or off.

I've install CCCP with Media player classic and it plays them fine.

So what's the deal? Do I need to install codecs for XMBC, if so how? Or am I doing something else wrong?

Thanks!

XBMC is not a directshow player so external codecs will have no effect in XBMC if they work in MPC then use that as an external player in XBMC

Thanks. It looks like the issue is kinda with the videos, and I've had this sort of thing before.

When a video has any tiny amount of corruption, external players still play it fine, but XBMC stop playing as soon as it encounters an error.

Is there a reason why XMBC doesn't continue while just about every other play continues past the errors?

Can I change a setting somewhere so it handles corrupt videos somewhere?

Thanks.
