XBMC not scraping/scanning folders correctly?
#1
I recently upgraded to dharma, and my folders are not scanning correctly.
I only get 3 videos in my library.

content is set to movies, scan recursively.

here are some example folder names:

Code:
A Man Apart
A.History.Of.Violence[2005]DvDrip.AC3[Eng]-aXXo
A.Prairie.Home.Companion.DVDRiP.XViD-LUNAR.[www.torrentfive.com]
Accepted[2006]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo
Across the Universe[2007]DvDrip[Eng]-FXG
Akira
Alien (1979)
Aliens.1986.SE.720p.HDTV.DTS.x264-DON
Aliens.In.The.Attic.R5.LiNE.XviD-DEViSE [PTP]
Amadeus
Angels.and.Demons.R5.LiNE.XviD-DEViSE
Apocalypto
Appaloosa
Atonement.DVDRip.XviD-SVD
August Rush
Australia
Avatar.2009.PAL.MULTI.DVDR-TED
Babel
Baby Mama
Babylon A.D
Bambi Meets Godzilla

Does anyone have any advice? Previously it worked fine. Is there a better scraper i can use?

What scraper are you currently using that isnt working for you?

How are your files named and do you have "use folder name for lookups" enabled?

I have tried the movieDB, amazon.com, and IMDB.

Yes use folder names is selected. Example names are in the original post.

Try putting the year after, like this:

Batman.Begins.2005

or

Bartman Begins (2005)

So, I mapped the network drives, and added that, now it seems to be picking up more than 3 movies. Im gonna wait and see if it works.

Thats not really an option. I have about 500 movies and 150 TV shows.

It worked before the update fine....

UPDATE:

The movies are scraping fine now. Not sure why moving them from a share to a mapped drive would change anything (explaination?). Now Im having a similar problem with TVShows. The general structure of my storage is

NAS Server -> tvshows/'tvshow name'/season x/files
or
tvshows/'tvshow name'/files

I have tvshows mapped to a drive.

The behavior I am seeing is that it will add each folder but none of the episodes. So I have a bunch of empty TV show folders. I have tried using the default scraper (TheTVDB) and MoviePlayer.it TV. All the settings are off (incl selected folder contains a single show).

Anything else I should try? Has anyone encountered this problem?

my was working fine until a few days ago.

my tvshows still update and scan fine but now my movies will no longer update on startup..

this is getting quite frustrating.

IMO i would remove all that extra "garbage" at the end of your movie names.

PAL/XviD etc... no need for it to be there

but again thats my opinion..

Well for the TV show folders it doesn't have that. But the filenames generally need to remain intact for torrents. I have ALOT of TV shows renaming all of them isn't plausible (if they didn't need to be intact).

The filenames worked before I upgraded to 10.0, also when add/remove the sources it finds different shows, which is very odd.

Do a debug log during a scan, stat. It'll show you the problem immediately.

works like a charm!!
