On playback - check the Audio settings via the OSD - on these files the volume is set to 0 - use the slider to increase volume.

-has anyone got a working build they can upload as the links by tiben are dead?

-What's the deal with the config now? I see there's an xml file in \...\XBMC\system\players\dvdplayer similar to what dsplayer used. Is this file actually being used by dscodec?

-What's the status with audio and ffdshow audio? Is passthrough working on either the recent commits or the test build tiben uploaded?

Cheers Wink

The downloads at http://dsplayer.passion-xbmc.org seem to be active enough, although they don't seem to pick up any video codecs by default. There is an earlier build linked to below:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=777...stcount=87

which does pick up the MPC codec at least, so there must have been a breaking change in between. The later non _video build appears to pick up DirectSound, but as I explained above, not video.

I suspect it may have been the introduction of the XML file you mention, so perhaps the later builds need some kind of config. Something to try tonight I think.

The latest builds i geuss are in a state of WIP with regards to actually working. It's a waiting game with dscodec at the moment!

I heard from tiben the other day. He's been working 6 days out of 7 during the summer so hasn't had any time to work on dscodec, however it is still on his radar.

Cheers

So I installed that latest build ready to create the XML... but found that I couldn't find where to place it! I don't seem to have a default file in my clean install. Any tips?

Or yes, perhaps I should just wait for Tiben.

-has anyone got the latest commit (https://github.com/tiben20/xbmc) to work? I can build (had to sort a few builds errors) however no mater what i try in terms of config, the build won't use directshow.

Hey guys - I've been away most of the summer. Was wondering if Tiben's dscodec version ever made it to being [relatively] stable and usable with WinXP? Anyone know?

Cheers

Hi Joe

Don't know if anything's been done or whether it works on any OS - haven't checked git recently, but looks like the project might have ground to a halt, given lack of updates from Tiben.

Please, place it to any filehosting

I am trying to get the DSCodec, but the links are dead (HTML-Error 500). Any other download locations available?
