Looks similar or newer to the one in this wiki.

It actually depends on what operating system you'll be running, there are mixed views about Windows XP. Some say it works and others say it does not. So if you are running Windows 7 then you should be OK I think.

HP receivers are pretty popular around but one can not guarantee the device will actually work with your hardware or not. As long as its an RC6 device then you should not have any problem with Windows Vista and UP.

Cheers,
EG.

I've got one similar to that and haven't had too many problems. Only the range of the remote. It lights up from my couch when I hit a button but doesn't do anything. I have to lean forward and point it directly at the reciever to make it do something.

Hoping it's just the battery that came with it. Have ordered some new ones.

I have this remote, it works great!

I bought it in hopes to use it to power on all my devices, though the codes for the hisense tv and lg audio reciever did not work woth my equipment... Quite disappointing!

However, the remote is by far the best mce remote you can get... Trust me, I have quite a few!

To those of you using this remote (HP Media Centre), are you using XP or Windows 7?

I've tested it on both and it worked. However note that there appear to be several varients of the HP receiver, with no obvious way to tell one from another. There appears to be at least one of these varioents that isn't supported on XP but does work on Windows 7. See http://it.megocollector.com/?p=8 for some discussion of this.

Actually the receiver in the eBay posting looks like a Microsoft receiver not an HP receiver, though they should be interchangable as they're compatible with each other.
