Good feedback. I checked out the greenpois0n RC 6.1 change log and didn't see anything about the wifi fix (just an iBooks fix), but sure enough a google search shows that numerous blogs are reporting 6.1 does fix the wifi issue.

EDIT: you (everyone) should always get/save their shsh blobs. Once Apple rolls out a new version then they stop signing the ipsw related to that version. Without the shsh blob, there is no way to re-install that version.

I have jailbreak my ATV 2 and doesn't save my shsh blob is it to late ar can i do it after the jailbreackHuh

pecinko Wrote:2. Verify that in System profiler and copy your's ECID so you can enter it in TinyUmbrella (TU)

3. Open TU (I used ver 4.21.11), click on Manual ECID and paste your number. Set iDevice to AppleTV if not already set. Name it as you like.

4. Select this device (you just created) from the left list and click on Save SHSH in upper right corner. TU reported This device is NOT connected, but created SHSHs in home/.shsh without a problem

do i really have to enter the ECID manually? i'm using tu on a mac and i thought that saved my shsh automaticaly with correct ECID when plugin my atv2 via usb and told tu to save the shsh?

Ok so gathering my 16 digit ECID code wasn't all that difficult, is that all I need to do incase of problems in the future? Also is this number unique to the firmware? Will I need to do this each time I upgrade?

About saving your ATV2 shsh blobs. These threads refer to two separate guides. The confusion I have is that one mentions needing to put your device into recover (dfu). The other doesn't mention this at all.

http://www.ihackintosh.com/2010/10/how-t...v-2g-ecid/

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=9189

I want to avoid putting ATV2 into DFU mode, well because how would I get it out of DFU without restoring fw which is undesirable. ?

Which one of the above guides is absolutely accurate for ATV2??

EDIT: see this post that I just made, it may be helpful to some: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=730...stcount=15

Thx

No need for DFU mode. I just used Tiny Umbrella earlier today. The current version will extract the ECID and all other relevant info without DFU.

If TinyUmbrella does not recognize automatically your ATV2 just plug the power in the ATV. Worked for me
