Hey everybody. I’ve been using XBMC on a Windows 7 machine, and I am having a problem connecting a Mac that I recently purchased to the SMB source on the Windows machine. The best way I can describe the problem is as follows: on the Mac, I run the XBMC application, enter the “Videos” section, then I use the menu options to “Add source.” I then browse to the “Windows Network (SMB)” directory, and find the name of my Windows PC. No problem so far, but as I attempt to load that directory, XBMC prompts me for a user name and password.
The content on the Windows machine is not password protected in any way, so no combination of user names and passwords work on the Mac. I have searched Google in a bunch of different ways, looked at all the forums I could find, combed through the Wiki, but I can’t seem to find a solution to this problem. Is there any way you could help me with this? I would appreciate any help you could offer. Thank You.
