Some library issues...adding music etc
#1
Hello all,

After looking at SONOS musicsystem (especialy the priceticket)this programm got my 200% attention.

What a nice piece of work this is...

but....
I need a little advice here.

I have lots of Mp3, en lots of Cd albums.
I make different folders for each CD album
The Mp3's goes simply in a folder called MP3

All together goes on a NAS.
My folderstructure is something like

NAS\MUSIC\MP3
and for the CD it is:
NAS\MUSIC\ALBUM

I let XBMC scanning for artist and albums etc,
In the ALBUM folder are various CD's and - i do a search in the library for an artist wich is also in the MP3 section, XBMC give me only the one in the MP3 folder, he does not searching my albu collection.

Perhaps i missed something in the manual, but from this point i got stuck...

Greetings,
Mr. Ed

What is a "CD" here? What is in the ALBUM folder?

I'll try to explain...

I ripped the CD's in WAV format.

In the ALBUM folder are more folders that are named as the CD title..
NAS\ALBUM\DON MCLEAN
NAS\ALBUM\THEE AGLES
etc...

In the ALBUM folder i create subfolders with the title of the CD i just ripped
In the CD title folder i put the tracks in .wav format.

Example:
NAS\ALBUM\DONMCLEAN\american pie.wav

I hope this helps ...

Thx..in advance !

Right. .wav has no metadata -> it won't go into the library, simple as that.

I suggest using something such as flac instead, or if you really MUST stick with .wav (single .wav per album?) use a .cue sheet.
