Unable to init rendering system

Keep getting this error in my log when trying to auto load xbmc via eventghost under windows xp.

01:28:59 T:260 M:2231500800 FATAL: CApplication::Create: Unable to init rendering system

I'm running the 10.2 catalyst drivers for my x800 card. If i VNC in and rerun it, it works.

trying to reinstall dx 9.0c now, to see if that works.

will try a svn next.

tried a dozen drivers, even tried the ogl svn build. nothing worked... any other clues on what i can do?

i dont have the money for any other hardware, or i would be jumping on it asap.

the x800 is listed as supported.

You need to post a debug log. Press Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

notepad %appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log

and click OK and the log will open in Notepad. Paste the log into pastebin.com and post the link here. Don't just paste the log here as it's too big and messes up the forum.

Let me know.

I'm currently running the Catalyst 8.11 Drivers. I had this issue with about 12 different versions of the Catalyst drivers that I've tried. From 7.4 to 10.2 (latest legacy).

8.11 actually corrected some static I was getting in the speakers. I can load XBMC after it fails from the run dialog.
