I am trying to connect the 2 with lines because:
1. I have tried 8 times and obtained 8 different folders, none of which work.
2.When I go to Videos, add source, and browse I get the following choices:
HDHomerun Devices
Home Folder
ReplayTV Devices
SAP Streams
UNnP Devices
Video playlists
Windows network (SMB)
Zeroconf Browser
OK
Cancel
That is why I don't want one liners.

Haha... I can't tell if you guys are just messing with him or if there is a severe language barrier between the uninformed and the overinformed happening here.

Are we getting a touch of inverted racism here chaps? I have sat in many meetings with non-English native speakers and it seems that this is what we're getting here. I repeat the request I made earlier: is there someone au fait (that's French for knowing the difference between PC and Mac) with OS X?

Jim, I dont even know what to say anymore.
I have already told you what I believe you need to do.
No disrespect, but what I posted is extremely simple.
Im not going to sit here and spoon feed you.
(If I'm being overly harsh or my posts were not clear someone correct me)

Jim,
"Windows share" is how Windows share files.
Samba (or SMB) is the name for the same thing in Linux.
I don't have OSX but there is name for the same thing in OSX (other guys already explain how to enable same functionality in OSX)
In XBMC you need to pickup "Windows network(SMB)" to see your shares that you enabled in OSX.
And yes XBMC then will play any kind of file. That is the goal.
