Goal: to display chinese file name in the video file list.
OS: ubuntu 9.04
XBMC: Dhama (I think)

I can read chinese text file fine in Ubuntu, but when I enter XBMC and try to switch the skin font to Arial base (some tutorial suggested), all the menu become blank. I am using Confluence skin. Any suggestion?

Solved my own problem. If any one care to know, this is how I got it working.

I put a Chinese character supported font into the /usr/share/xbmc/media/Fonts to replace the arial.ttf; then I put the same font in the skin file folder with the same name (arial.ttf). Go into xbmc->Settings>Appearance->Skin->font set it to Arial based) and go to Appearance->International->language to set it to Chinese (simple) and set the character to Chinese (GBK).
