AirPlay Problem
#1
Hello, quick question. I did some searching but haven't found any solutions yet. I'm trying to stream music from my Macbook to the ATV2. When I try to play something on iTunes, the Macbook says it's connecting to the AirPlay device for a minute and then seems to start playing. On the ATV2, it switches to the music player and says Working, but hangs and then seems to just quit. Here's what I got from the log from when I started trying to play to when it quit:

I made sure to disable IPv6 on the Macbook. Everything works fine using the native AirPlay. Any ideas?

Is native AirPlay switched off on the ATV2?

If I have helped you in any way, please forgive me, it was entirely accidental.

Indeed it is. It crashed the first time I tried, and I found that whole thread. XBMC doesn't crash, it stays open, it just doesn't do anything.

Hmmm. Full debug log?

I can get it in a few minutes, though what I posted is everything added to the log from a stable startup to me trying to utilize Airplay.

Is there any particular reason for the advancedsettings.xml directive to use dvdplayer for audio? Try removing it.

Yep pretty sure thats the issue. It can't create a demuxer for the airtunes alac format because only paplayer knows about tha alac codec. Get rid of the "<defaultplayer>dvdplayer</defaultplayer>" and it should work.

I had trouble with music skipping in the past, and found that as a fix somewhere along the line. I'll knock it out of there and see if there are any other issues that crop back up. Thanks!

Was wondering if the native ATV2 AirPlay server still needs to be turned off on the latest xbmc nightliesHuh

Sure you have to. Else you would crash in fire when using airplay in xbmc.
