Hi All,
At the moment I am taking a good long look at what FlexRAID has to offer.
Things I like:
-- *can run* within Linux
-- bit-rot detection
-- *pooling* of HDD's
-- underlying filesystem on the data drives stays untouched
Things I am unsure of:
-- seems to be very little info on successful Linux installations; scattered bits of info here and there but no cohesive start to finish guide or even user experience that can be easily found.
-- foggy on the details as to how the *pooling* of HDD's is accomplished. I have heard of 'mhddfs' but I don't why would they use this over something more tried and tested like LVM? Very little info on mhddfs use out in the wild.
So in general I am curious to hear about anyone's LINUX EXPERIENCE USING FLEXRAID; good or bad.
I have 0 interest in any Windows-based FlexRAID platform since I am not regressing...
Thanks
