How do you auto start XBMC?
#1
Just curious as to what people are doing. Right now I am using a group policy to auto start XBMC as a shell replacement. Previously I was using EventGhost. Since I no longer use EventGhost to control my remote, I switched it over.

Some small quirks though. I notice it's a little laggy to start off. Perhaps it's still loading things in the background? All I do know was that this wasnt an issue with EventGhost. I may go back and just turn off the MCE plugin.

Before I start messing around, I'm curious what others here do.

I have a shortcut in the Startup folder, although my HTPC is on all the time and XBMC is always ready to go.

This is the method I used (Green Button Launch) - you don't say whether your using an MCE remote, so it may or may not work for you - see here http://inchoatethoughts.com/launching-xb...ter-remote

I use a shortcut in the Start menu. I also have the remote green button configured to start XBMC in case I accidentally close it. I use a Microsoft remote configured with the MCERemote plugin.
