I am having a problem with changes to skin settings not saving on my AppleTV2. I have tried to change to several skins and several different settings and each time when I exit xbmc, they are back at the confluence theme and default settings. I am using the "Shutdown/Exit" option in the Night skin to exit XBMC.


I noticed that the guisettings.xml does not update as changes are made. Does XBMC save gui settings at the end of a session?

I am running the latest version of XBMC, AppleTV2 and jailbroken via greenpoi0n RC6.

Changed settings:

"Night" skin
zoom = -10
hide from main menu - Videos, HD Movies
un-hide = Shutdown

check your filesystem rights. Did you copy this files to your ATV2 as user root?

Fix would be:
1. ssh into atv2
2. issue: "chown -R mobile.mobile /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC"

Yep, that was it. Some of the files in XBMC folder had "root" as the owner instead of mobile.

Changed the owner, restarted XBMC and everything is saved. Thanks.
