Hi guys,

I have HTPC and media tank (egreat) based on SIGMA DESIGNS SMP8635. Yesterday I did picture quality comparison between HTPC (with XBMC) and egreat. I don't know why but picture is better on media tank. From HTPC SD videos look more blurred - why? I don't have image P.P enabled. Egreat has upscaling, right? And XBMC don't?

I use an ATI Radeon HD5XXX which handles my SD content with internal upscaling and it looks great.
But I don't have a comparision with your egreat.

Your PC is connected to HDTV directly? Or you have amp with built in upscaler? How do you know that your internal upscalig is active?
