TV-shows stutter

Well, perhaps stutter is the wrong word but I'm using it for lack of a better word. Perhaps this is why I have had no luck when searching for a solution.

First of, my system:
Asus AT3ion running 32-bit windows7 and XBMC 10.
4GB RAM (3GB usable)
GPU can use 512MB

40" Sony Bravia full HD supporting 24, 50, 60 Hz
AC3 and DTS capable receiver enabled

Hardware connected as follows:
HTPC-HDMI-Receiver-HDMI-TV

All files stored locally on a 1TB 2,5" HD

The problem:
When playing episodes of tv-shows I often get a sort of studder, like you are seeing every fourth or fifth frame, like one frame every second. No problem with audio.
Some times it helps if I press stop and exit to main window and then press play again, sometimes I have to exit the program or even reboot.
An episode can give me problem one day and work great another. The problem is present on all files, AVI and MKP even if it is most frequent on AVIs.

Under video option I have DXVA2 activated and all options enabled. Sync method is "audio clock".

I have been trying to find solve this for a few months now but to no avail. Please help Sad

Wow, I disabled "Adjust display refresh rate to match video" and that seems to have solved it.
