I couldn't find a report of this in the various threads talking about lagginess and thought I'd ask.
All my video files are on a NAS on a wired GigE network and structured in a folder per movie, 900 such folders in a parent folder. Scrolling through the list of 900 folders is pretty fast as is navigating into one of these folders but navigating back up into the parent folder is slow and it takes several seconds before the list of movie folders shows up on the screen.
The folder structure again is:
Movies
and so on and navigating back up to the Movie[1..n] level of the hierarchy is what is slow.
I've tried several skins with the same behavior.
Is this because XBMC is going to the NAS and refreshing the information every time I do this operation?
Thanks.
