DTS-HD Software Decoding / PCM Output
#1
hi there!

i own a hd5450 graphics card which can decode DTS-HD Audio, but my denon receiver does not have a hdmi input.

my thought is to decode the audio via software and send it to my receiver via 6ch audio cables.

does xbmc support this? which audio configuration do i have to choose in the settings?

I'd like to know if this is possible also.

I am pretty sure if you receiver doesn't have hdmi, it will not do DTS-HD. Plus, xbmc does not handle native hd audio.

Are you ripping to mkv? If so, an alternative could be rip the HD audio track to FLAC. XBMC can handle this. though, still you receiver needs to be up to snuff - it would need to be able to handle lpcm.

Your graphics card is not capable of decoding DTS-HDMA. Decoding is not the same as bitstreaming. Nobody has yet figured out how to decode DTS-HD outside of some licensed commercial software and of course licensed hardware.
