Music library populated even with no sources!
#1
Hi all,

I had a strange problem with my music library having duplicate entries so I tried removing the (one and only) music source, cleaning the library and re-adding it, which didn't help. I've since noticed that even when I remove the source my library still thinks there is a source somewhere and I can browse my library, play tracks and even do a library update, despite the sources view showing just "Add Source..." and "Musiic Add-ons" and nothing else. Is there some way to remove this phantom source?

Cheers,

Tim.

You need to delete the library by the sounds of it (not just clean it).

Win 7 users can find this in c:\users\"YOURNAME"\appdata\roaming\xbmc\userdata\databases\

delete the music.db file

you may also want to delete the "music" folder from the thumbnails directory (dont worry, the folder will auto-create its self next time)

win 7 users can find this in c:\users\"YOURNAME"\appdata\roaming\xbmc\userdata\thumbnails\

once these are deleted. restart xbmc and you will notice no library for you music section. Simply add your music source and scan to library to rebuild the database.

Hope this helps

Thank RBX, that did the trick, although the DB was called music7.db.
