I have a Apple tv 1 and want to know when a add-on updates it leaves the older version folder of add-on in the library folder,can you remove that older one without causing any problems?

If you mean in packages/ then yes, you can remove the old .zip file. In fact you can remove all of them if you like - it's just a package repository so that if you uninstall + reinstall you don't need to download the 100MB skin again.

Thanks that answered what i needed to know! Really enjoying having XBMC on my Apple tv that i am getting rid of cable soon!
