DVI (or vga/g-sub) to RCA (or S-VIDEO)
#1
Not sure why one would want to do this but I have a jetway netbox with hdmi/dvi and I'd like to connect it to a regular CRT either through RCA or S-VIDEO.

I found this, a VGA to RCA switch http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...largeimage, so potentially I could connect the DVI to VGA adapter and then use this. Really, I have no clue if this would work.

Has anyone done this and what have been your experiences?

EDIT: My tv is a Sony KV-32FS100, besides the standard analog inputs, it's got what looks to be a Component video input but it's definitely not HD in any way. Perhaps another means of connecting the jetway?

It will work. Just make sure dvi -> vga is possible for you (must be dvi-i)

I don't know this device, but I did it with an Grand Hand View II. A VGA to S-Video, Scart or Component converter. This works great. Don't have a link right now, but google should find it...

Regards.

Thanks for the input guys. Finally went for the monoprice box, it supports 1024, my dvi port does support analog so this should work. The grad view seems better as it can support up to 1280x1024.
