I guess the ATV2 does not have the option for 1080i. So the video does not fill the screen. No problem, disappointing but accepted.
I do notice the video on my larger HD mkv files run smoother, Great!
But whatever the size of the file, the video quality is not clear.
There was a setting for ATV1 changed from 8 to 48 wich allowed the video to display much clearer. Forgot what it was. I will look it up and post.
Can anyone help with this, or is it too soon for a fix?

Is your question about XBMC in particular or does your ATV not fill the screen when in Front row?
If it's about the ATV in general, i'd suggest asking in an ATV forum somewhere... i only say this because this forum is getting more and more clogged up with general ATV queries. If it's XBMC, there is a screen calibration option which will let you resize the screen to fill it. Have a look under system in settings.. it should be there somewhere. |

Sounds like your TV is not scaling the image to full screen?
Without pictures or a better description of the problem it's very hard to know... What do you mean by "not clear" are you implying the image is blurry or pixelated? |

I had to set up the image because the clock and other info was stretched too far by xbmc.

But since it is no longer available for the ATV 1 or 2. It is effecting everything. So i believe it is not XBMC. But the video quality and yes pixalation and shadowing was a setting in XBMC. Where was tha t setting? |

Any of you guys get to figure this out? I'm having the same problem, but running a recently built full HTPC with Windows 7 vs, PS3. I just searched for all posts with the keyword "blurry"...

I'm running my ATV2 connected to my new Samsung 46" ES7000, connected to my NAS via powerline Solwise 200mb adapters.
All my movies are h264 MKV BD conversions 720p, usually around the 5,000 bit rate mark for video, and 5.1 formthe audio... I have no problems at all on my TV - no "blurriness", no quality issues at all. May be an idea to check your bit rate etc on your files?
