Operating System / Questions:
Ubunto or OpenElec. I'm not familiar with OpenElec, but I've read good things. Is there a difference in boot time? Any advantage over the other? Strictly used as a home theater media player and will wirelessly stream video at 720P (eventually 1080P). Also want this system to handle Sabnzbd, XBMC, Couch Potato and Sickbeard (all accessed remotely).
[The Build]
Buying:
[Micro-ATX] Athlon 2x3.0Ghz + GT210 w/ EVGA GT210 (Eskro's Build)
WIFI: ASUS PCE-N13 PCI Express
Costs: ~$300
Currently Own/Extra:
RAM: OCZ Gold 4GB (2 of 3 sticks)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 40GB
NAS: LG N4B2N w/ 2x2TB WD20EARS
Later:
Universal Remote
Blu-Ray Drive
Wireless Keyboard/Mouse (Still figuring out if I really need this)
Gaming Pad (for emulators)
Wireless HDTV Transmitter (USB to HDTV)
Like to thank eskro and poofyhairguy for all their posts and wonderful guides. I've based all my decisions pretty much on their information.
