So I've searched the forum and google as well and can't seem to find anyone else having this problem.

I have the setting checked to play my dvds automatically but when I insert one, a new link is added to the videos menu that says e:\[movie name] and i have to right click on it and select play movie before it actually starts.

Is there another setting I need to make in order to get it to work?

Check in System settings, Video, DVDs.

Later: Oops, reading your post more carefully suggests you've already checked this. I've just tried on my system and it did play a DVD automatically when I inserted it.

The same thing happens on my system. The drive is recognized, but can´t be added, if i wan´t to. The disc (DVD or CD) is found, but not startet. If I click on the disc it says :
Please enter a disc.

Both (CD and DVD) are working on the same system with MCE.

Please excuse my bad english.

I have the same problem.

Read on the forum that changing the drive letter would work, but didn't do the trick for me.

Strange that it does play from within windows.
