I don't see that there is an equivalent of a 'right click' using the ATV2 remote in XBMC. So, no way to update libraries / get to the 'c' menu ??
Is it recommended to get a bluetooth keyboard with the ATV2 ?

I believe if you press and hold the centre button on the ATV2 remote, that'll bring up the menu you're after.
