To use streams from directon.tv (including CNN USA) you can download and run rtmpgw.exe on your local XBMC installation (rtmpgw.exe is included with the rtmpdump package at http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu). All you need to do is run rtmpgw.exe before launching XBMC.

You can then create standard .strm files within a XBMC video source folder (or entries to the XML config file for the plugin referenced in this thread) that refer to the rtmpgw.exe gateway. Below are some working .strm files that do this:

ABC Family

Cartoon Network

CBS

Disney

NBC

Showtime

interesting so how would you do this on an apple tv with XBMC loaded

I just tired danfred's suggestion, registered, downloaded rtmpgw.exe and ran it prior to activating XBMC with no joy. I can use a browser to see the streams.. so it's not Geo blocked, not sure what else to try... I guess I'll have to read up on rtmpgew when I get some free time.

I would think you should be able to do this without rtmpgw if the url is formatted for xbmc, but I haven't been successful yet.

How can I add these abc family, cartoon network, disney, and showtime live streams to xbmc for apple tv 2? Can someone make a repository zip for these? I'm not good with codes and stuff.

I'm not sure how important plugin icons are... but just text on an orange background didn't do much for me.. so I threw one together, feel free to use it.



The background is a transparent gradient.

@crystaltears, those links only work when running rtmpgw witch I don't think you can run on apple tv.
