XBMC not recognising DVD in Vista
#1
Question
I am trying to build a HTPC for a friend at work who wants to watch Netflix as well as everything else XBMC does. I have everything working the way I want, except when I put in a DVD XBMC doesn't recognise anything has happened.

I am using Vista Buisness, because I had a legal copy lying around and I didn't want to spend the money for Win 7 just to run XBMC. I realize it does not come with DVD codec but from what I read, and I may be reading wrong, XBMC doesn't use the Windows Codec anyway.

I have installed VLC and it plays DVD's fine. I have googled how to use an external media player for DVD's, but everything I could find was for Windows XP or Linux and the file systems have changed from XP to Vista.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanx in advance,
nonmon

I think I may have found an answer. I'm now a 3rd degree black belt in Google.
