GhostEvo Wrote:Chuckles,

Thank you for helping. I think that's where I'm having my problem. When I try and view the movie information with the July 27 build (by holding menu on the Apple TV remote till the box pops up for me to choose), I select it and it disappears, but nothing happens. If I do the same thing and select "Update Library" it looks like it is refreshing the information, but I can't view it. I also tried cleaning too without luck though.

I just tried a July 18 build, and the movie info box slides in (unlike the July 28 build), however the movie plot and such is still empty. The new artwork shows up though, just not the movie plot or any fanart (even after updating the library and trying the clean).

I'll keep trying different builds with the suggestion you made and see if it helps too. Just thought maybe I was missing a setting or something!

Thanks again!

Ok now I'm a little clearer on whats your doing, sounds like something is wrong
Can you redo and repost your log file, I'm not an expert but it looks like you have posted a log file that is short on info. Be aware that every time you restart XBMC it overwrites the log file so if you have restarted XBMC you will have lost the log file of your last session.

Actually, on start of XBMC, if a xbmc.log is found it renames it to xbmc.old.log and starts a new one. So you should always have the current session log and the previous.

On the latest nightly7/27, my thumbnails were turning blue. And this was even before I added any media to the library. I only had to view the files in the source and when the thumbnails appeared they slowly started to change colors. See my post here

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=106450

I reverted back to 7/22 nightly and the thumbnails are normal again.

Dunno if this is a problem with the nightly, but I'm having trouble adding a HTTPS source. I can access the HTTPS server from another computer, but adding it as a source in XBMC, I can't see the contents of the server. It does not show anything, just an empty folder (The webserver is running HFS, together with stunnel for HTTPS).

I've tried both HTTP and HTTPS, but no joy with either of them. Here's the relevant part from the xbmc.log:

Post the whole log (remember to enable debugging if you haven't already) and put it up on pastebin, then link to this thread. the debug log contains a lot of information about your setup that is also relevant to the issue.

Has anyone noticed that XBMC is slow generating thumbnails when in the Library mode for movies or TV shows, using the latest nightly build (Jul 27)?

I was using the build in my sig, but decided to upgrade to the latest nightly (I'm using the default Confluence build by the way). When I did so, I ran "Update Library" afterwards and then did Clean Library, for both TV shows and movies. When I go into either of those sections now, all the thumbnails do eventually appear, but there's a bit of a delay until they fade in...anywhere up to a couple of seconds or so. Even the background images used for the main menu choices in XBMC (Programs, Weather, System, etc) are a bit slow to load when I move the cursor over to each one in turn (noticeably slower than when I was using the build shown in my sig).

I tried to do a pastebin but the log is too massive at this moment. If someone tells me this is not a known issue, then I'll reboot the ATV2 and grab the smaller logs when I get a chance (my wife is watching a show right now and if I reboot the thing she'll kill me!) and paste them here.

Here's a small sample from the logs, if it helps in the meantime...note the "took xxx milliseconds to load" text:
http://pastebin.com/n2nHDARv

- ATV2 4.4.4 (iOS 5.0.1) build 9A406a, running Frodo (final version)
- Macbook Pro, running OSX Mountain Lion
- Skin: reFocus
- Connecting to MySQL database on Synology DS411+ NAS via NFS.

Actually, this might be more helpful: a pastebin showing the log from the beginning until the first instance of delayed thumbnail loading:
