ISO is stuttering the same for me as the VIDEO_TS.
I will try to create a small DVD to copy it locally to ATV2. I will try also a nightly for OSX to compare.

I tried the last osx nightly of May1st and dvd playfine.
About the small dvd copied locally to ATV2, it shows the same issue. So we can forget about network&protocol issues.

jd2157 Wrote:Agreed, good error report and that the mkv is encoded /w mpeg2 but looks like the WMV is encoded with VC-1. Either way there's no hardware acceleration for either so neither's going to look too good on the atv2.

Is that correct? I would easily understand that if the CPU was at 100% (or nearly) as it would be the software doing the decoding, but the CPU is not reaching nearly that high. The same MKV file will also play fine with no stuttering or buffering issues if I revert from the nightly to the version available from the main repository (10.0-7). I upgraded to the nightly in hopes of the WMV issue improving.

It's correct that there's no hardware acceleration for any codec other than h264/x264 on the atv2. So for any HD content that will likely cause choppy playback... far as I know.

Interesting that the MKV files was ok on other versions of XBMC. Mustn't have been a very high res or bitrate... I confess I didn't check them in the mediainfo output.

I am experiencing a problem with playback of .mp4 files. Very choppy, fps down to 10-12
Not sure if mp4 files are hardware accelerated so maybe its due to that, but hears the report…

Platform: ATV2
iOS version: 4.1.1
XBMC Build: XBMC PRE-11.0 Git: 20110430-f5e63e6 (Compiled: May 2 2011)
Installed with dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb

XBMC log: http://pastebin.com/7NYicd3r
Media Info: http://pastie.org/pastes/1876223
(Happy to upload media sample if required and if you could advise what software available (osx))

Playback fine on Platform: Mac OS X (10.7.0 i386). Built on Apr 18 2011 (Git:20110418-6281a05)

Kind regards,
FT

I might be wrong, but could line 170 have anything to do with it?

Quote:22:56:19 T:159367168 M:124203008 DEBUG: FactoryCodec - Video: vtb - Opening
22:56:19 T:159367168 M:124203008 DEBUG: FactoryCodec - Video: vtb - Failed
22:56:19 T:159367168 M:124203008 DEBUG: FactoryCodec - Video: - Opening

Does vtb fail mean VideoToolBox ?

Keith - thanks for the NIGHTLY BUILD as it was able to get all the ADDONs running again. At least all that would work, without crashing XBMC

Can I make a request?

Can you attach the code for Slingbox aka Slingplayer for XBMC into your NIGHTLY BUILD?

The following thread discusses SLINGBOX on the XBMC platform.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=82597

I will test this out, as I have access to my remote SLINGBOX and I can handle the simple installation of a DEB file.

Platform: ATV2
iOS version: 4.3
Apple TV version: 4.2.1
XBMC Build: 7 May

I would like to get my atv2 xbmc on the same shared mysql database as my other xbmc clients. Right now the atv2 box has to have its own database as it is a newer database version that is incompatible with the production release of 10.1 that is running on my windows and openelec instances. Any idea of when the atv2/ios line and the other lines will be on the same database version again?

thx

Not for a while, but you can run nightlies in osx/lin/win builds until then:
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/

But you have an obligation to report issues. Smile

That's really whats stopping official builds is the database mismatch. We probably won't rev officially until everything else uses the same db.

FOR IOS: xbmc.log: /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/xbmc.log (be sure to enable debugging)

Interesting! I will definitely look into making you a one-off build sometime, I don't think I can get to it this weekend, but I'll try. Get me on IRC or PM me offline or something if I forget. Smile
