Is there a way improve video contents by adding a "Play All" option? I watched CTV NEWS>CTV National News>(specific date)>(date: Part one, part two, part three etc....)
The "music video jukebox add-on" was able to put this "play all" as an option instead of selecting each one after another. Many thanks!

yes there is a way. can't find remote at the moment so this is from memory...when selecting canada on demand in the add-ons highlight canada on demand and hold down the menu button, it will bring up some options and the bottom option is settings or something, and allows you to change to play all video parts together and you can then choose how many parts you want to link at a time.
i've read on here that enabling that feature makes the plug in not work, (personally i've had it on and off and every other combination and it doesn't work no matter what.) have you tried discovery channel? are you in the us? |

I was wondering if there might be the ability to add on a music addon arm of CoD, much like there is for the BBC iPlayer. Recently CBC launched their CBC Music website and it is rammed with content. If we could access this content thru CoD, that would be spectacular.
http://music.cbc.ca/ Any thoughts from the coders? The last time I checked in with Andre, he was quite busy with life, so maybe others like renaudtrudel might be able to help out here...? |

This is correct, if you go into the plugin settings (right click, addon settings) and enable the "Automatically play multiple clips(SVN 32470+)" box, then it should play all the pieces consecutively. This requires one of the Edin beta's (I'm using Edin Beta 3 and it works). It will cause xbmc to freeze up in Dharma. Discovery channel does work. 98% of the content is region blocked to Canada, just like 98% of the free cable plugin and 100% of the hulu plugin is region blocked to the USA. You can try adding a canadian HTTP proxy server in the addon settings, but I have no guarantees that this will work as all the original developer's are in Canada. You might be able to find a canadian proxy you could try. But you are basically on your own for getting it working. |

renaudtrudel Wrote:Hi everyone, Since you ask... I cannot run this plugin because my user folder is named "François" and the plugin does not support unicode characters. Other plugins seem to work fine. Not sure how easy it is for you to fix though. On my side, renaming the user folder is simply too much work and risk. Thank you! |

Hi - This is a great plug-in for Canadians such as myself. I've gotten a copy of the librtmp that (seems to) work and am using howlett's version of Canada On Demand. Everything I've tried works (including Global, CTV, Discovery) except for CityTV. What are some of the things I should try to get CityTV to work? Thanks in advance!

If you read a few pages\posts back you will see that CityTV does not work because of the DRM on Adobe.

Quote:I'm having no problems with this. Did you update with the howlett version of the plugin? Also you need to switch on "my librtmp is awesome" in the settings. I just tired it now with this setting switched off and it failed to play and crashed XBMC.FYI while "my librtmp is awesome", works a treat, there is one little tinsy tinsy mega problem for me. Subtitles will not work. I was watching Merlin and successfully loaded in the subtitles for it, started out great until it went to the second clip in the episode then just replayed the first clip's subtitles again was very disjointed, no sync, then by the third clip in the episode no subtitles again. This is a PITA, see I'm Deaf and I really do need working subtitles lip reading is a megapain. /me kicks spacecast & ctv & their mother network owners B#ell.

Thank you SO much again for this wonderful plugin and to jedix and teefer22 for keeping it going.
I would like to suggest that a list of FAQ is compiled so that it is not necessary to read through the whole thread for basic information. It will also keep you from having to answer the same questions over and over. Things like the download and installation of rtmpdump in windows or linux, setting of "my librtmp is awesome", possible crashing problems with "play multiple clips" setting in some OSs and an updated version of what channels are currently working. I would be willing to compile some of the information but someone with a better understanding would have to look over it for accuracy. Also, the link to the FAQ should be on the original post (first page). Also, we need a date near the link on the first page so we know if andrepl has updated that posting recently. There really should be access given to jedix and/or teefer so that the original link can be kept updated.
